The children are encouraged to try a wide variety of activites. These are led by staff to encourage development through play, some of them are shown here:

Show and tell?

We welcome visits from people with different interests and hobbies to share experiences with the children. They would love to meet guide and hearing dogs; pet owners with horses, hamsters, snakes, puppies etc. The children really enjoy and benefit from these visits. Recent visitors have included the Fire Service.

Musicto encourage creativity, rhythm, imagination, and to introduce music and instruments from different cultures. Listening to CDs i.e. 'the boat song' everyone gets on 'the boat' which stops at lots of islands - the land of giants, fairies, bouncy balls, monsters, clowns and lots more. Back to top

Role playour newly refurbished indoor playhouse encourages creativitiy and helps to bring in the outside world to the pre-school by setting up 'the doctor's surgery, hospital, hairdressers, vets, school. Back to top
Team gamesfor example skittles helps with behaviour and self-control, counting, and hand eye control.Back to top
Craft activitiesenables the children to use various mediums and textures, to choose for themselves and develop their own imaginations. Back to top
Construction toysthese include duplo, stickle bricks, workshop, popiods, coloured bricks and many more. Back to top
Outside playour garden is being extensively refurbished this will include a larger soft play area, new large playhouse, seating, raised planters for vegetables and flowers, wooden play equipment. This will be surrounded by a new secure fence. This will enable the children to use their gross motor skills to the full i.e. running, climbing, pedalling, scooting, balancing. Back to top
