Cygnet sessions
These sessions are for children below school age and over the age of two and a half years. We focus on learning through play, using a tailored curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes.
Cygnet sessions allow children the opportunity to make their own choice of whom and with and what they play. There is adult interaction to encourage activities. We follow the National Curriculum's Early Learning Foundation Stage (ELFS) for children.
We have a high adult to child ratio, a maximum of 1:6, with a maximum of 24 children at each session, giving a high standard of individual attention.
Swan Sessions
These sessions have been developed to aid the child in the transition from pre-school to primary school. Places are available two or three terms before they enter their reception class depending on demand. We liaise with Cobham and Meopham Primary Schools to ensure continuity and that every child's needs are catered for. Again, we have a high adult to child ration or 1:4, with a maximum of 12 children at each session, giving an excellent standard of care and attention. Swan sessions allow children of a similar age to play together in a more structured atmosphere to encourage approved learning outcomes.
Lunch Sessions
We now offer caring for children during their lunch break, 11.45am to 12.30pm daily. There is a fee of £4.50 per child, per session to cover room hire and staff costs. This fee is not covered by government free nursery funding. Children provide their own food.
